Flying by plane to Calabria is the easiest and most comfortable route to take for the majority of the trip. This is the most common choice for most Italians and visitors. The latest that you could land at Rome FCO airport would be the 7th of August. You will then need to take an evening flight from FCO to SUF Lamezia Terme Airport.

From Lamezia you will need to take a cab to the Castle of Serragiumenta. This is a long ride but the only option from the airport. Expect a 1hr 30 min car ride. Lamezia is the only main airport in Calabria. There are no other alternatives to Calabria by plane. You must fly here!

Taking the train can be a scenic albeit longer route to Cosenza Calabria. The highest quality bullet trains can be taken from any of Italy's major cities for example Rome or Milan. If the wedding is your first stop, I would recommend flying to Rome Airport no later than the 7th of August and then taking a train to Stazione Castiglione Cosentino.

From there you can take an uber or cab to the Castle of Serragiumenta. This will be a 15-20 min ride to the venue. The train will take you closer to your final destination compared to flying to Calabria by plane to Lamezia.

Renting a car is pretty straightforward, you can drive directly to the venue from wherever you are. There is parking for your vehicle on the property of the castle.

Built in the 16th century by the tenth count of Altomonte, Pietro Antonio Sanseverino, the Serragiumenta Castle bears witness to an ancient and centuries-old history that began with the Sangineto family, who reigned from the early 1300s until 1381, the year in which the centuries-long dominion of the Sanseverino family began.
